A relative self-portrait of me and of my ancestors that were on the same branch of the family tree above me that directly resulted in my existence.

A DNA double-helix strand leads into a black and white broken heart that is screwed together and drips red blood.

At the bottom left of the painting a man viewed from behind who symbolizes life has a screw embedded into his back which repeats the screw into the heart in the center image.

On the bottom right an image of a skeleton in a suit who symbolizes death and has a small square cutout of the heart image from the center of the painting.

There are various representations of both my ancestors portraits and of biological imagery representing life that appear as almost abstract, self-contained paintings in and of themselves.

Everything aligns upon a grid with a central vanishing point and are enclosed inside of 3D type boxes with faint shadows to show depth of image and illusion.
